Noel Gallagher has been voted as the 'coolest man in Britain' in a new survey, beating the likes of James Bond actor Daniel Craig and Formula One star Lewis Hamilton. England footballer Steven Gerrard came second in the poll, while Doctor Who actor David Tennant tallied at number three in the survey compiled by Zoo magazine.
Craig was voted in fourth place, David Beckham came in fifth and Hamilton was placed in sixth position in the 100 Coolest British Men of 2007 list.
The Oasis musician, who turned 40 this year, also beat the likes of Alex Turner of the Arctic Monkeys, comedian Ricky Gervais, Chelsea footballer John Terry and Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson, who came in the top twenty.
His younger brother Liam Gallagher was voted in 22nd place.
Ben Todd, editor of Zoo, said: "These inaugural awards have revealed some quite surprising results with Noel Gallagher, who has acquired something of an 'elder statesman' role, topping the poll.
"It shows that he is someone young people today strive to be like - perhaps even more so than when Oasis dominated the charts a decade ago."
