MGM and Fox Home Entertainment have announced the US Blu-ray Disc release of Goldfinger, Moonraker and The World is Not Enough on 24th March 2009. This latest wave of Bond movies arrives on Blu-ray alongside Quantum of Solace and like the previous titles will be available separately ($34.99 SRP each) or as part of a box-set ($89.98 SRP).

The films are presented in 1080P Widescreen with English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio and French and Spanish DD5.1 Surround. Subtitles are available in English, Spanish, Korean and Chinese (Traditional & Simplified). Extras are the same as the Ultimate Edition DVDs...

MI6 has learned that "Quantum of Solace" may be joining the forthcoming Blu-Ray releases of "The Man With The Golden Gun" (1973) and "Licence To Kill" (1989) in the fourth Triple Pack box-set.

The Blu-Ray titles have been released as individual discs in the USA, but also in triple-pack box sets.

Previously announced releases:
Triple Pack 1 (Dr No, Live And Let Die, Die Another Day) - Wave 1
Triple Pack 2 (From Russia With Love, Thunderball, For Your Eyes Only) - Wave 1
Triple Pack 3 (Goldfinger, Moonraker, The World Is Not Enough) - Wave 2

"Quantum of Solace" will retail for $39.99 on Blu-Ray in the USA and is scheduled for release on March 24th. On the same day, "Goldfinger", "Moonraker", and "The World is Not Enough" will be released as individual titles and Triple Pack 3.

"The Man With The Golden Gun" and "Licence To Kill" will retail for $34.98 each and are scheduled for released on May 12th.

The fourth Blu-Ray box-set has been listed as retailing for $69.99. The regular price for a Bond triple-pack Blu-Ray box set is $89.98.

Australia may get `Diamonds`, `Spy` and `GoldenEye` on Blu-Ray early - hints to next titles for USA & UK

James Bond fans in Australia may have something to smile about this week, aside from being the first country to enjoy "Quantum of Solace" on DVD and Blu-Ray... All five of the 007 movies announced for high-definition Blu-Ray discs in Wave 2 & Wave 3 may be joined by an additional three titles.

On Wednesday 18th March, fans Down Under will be able to purchase the previously announced:
- Quantum of Solace
- Goldfinger (Wave 2 in USA / UK)
- Moonraker (Wave 2 in USA / UK)
- The World Is Not Enough (Wave 2 in USA / UK)
- The Man With The Golden Gun (Wave 3 in USA / UK)
- Licence To Kill (Wave 3 in USA / UK)

According to online listings for March releases in Australia, these will also be joined by:
- Diamonds Are Forever (TBA in USA/UK)
- The Spy Who Loved Me (TBA in USA/UK)
- GoldenEye (TBA in USA/UK)

In the USA and UK, `Quantum of Solace` is joined by Wave 2 titles on 24th March 2009, with the two announced Wave 3 titles due on 12th May 2009.

It's a good bet that these three new titles for Australia will be announced for the USA and UK releases next, either as additions to Wave 3 in May, or a Wave 4 release date later in the year.

Finally, the huge blockbuster that was the latest James Bond film, Quantum of Solace, is ready to go high-def on Blu-ray!

Quantum of Solace marks the second Bond film to star Daniel Craig in the role of 007, and is directed by Marc Forster.

This is a direct follow-up to Casino Royale, as Bond is out for revenge to get the man who took down his love.

What Bond ends up getting in the middle of though in his hunt for revenge could never have been expected. The leader of the criminals this time out is Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amatric),

He goes on his own, without MI6, working with Camille (Olga Kurylenko) as his new girl.

The film is absolutely over-the-top and is one of the best James Bond films these two eyes have seen to date, and I have seem them all. Daniel Craig has blown me away once again in the role of 007, and I cannot wait to see what he does next with the character!

The video is presented in full 1080p and is certainly demo-quality, with some amazing details to be had, along with strong black levels, and crystal clear picture in every scene. The way in which the action pops off the screen will really allow you to show off the power of Blu-ray.

The audio is presented in a DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio mix, and will simply blow you away. Once again, demo-quality in every aspect with clear dialogue, rocking surround effects, and much more.

As for the extras, things start out on disc one with a music video from Alicia Keys and Jack White – Another Way To Die.

From there, the first disc also contains the theatrical trailer, and teaser trailer.

The meat of the extras is on the second disc, which contains plenty of nice special features.

These consist of many different featurettes which look at all areas of the film, its production, special effects, the boat chase, and much more.

The featurettes include Bond on Location, Start of Shooting, Olga Kurylenko and the Boat Chase, a look at director Marc Forster, the music of the film, and crew files.

The biggest disappointment for the Blu-ray release is the lack of Blu-ray exclusive extras.

Quantum of Solace is a must-own on the Blu-ray format due to the demo-quality audio and video transfer, and the insane entertainment provided by the movie itself. Do not miss this high-octane Bond flick on Blu-ray!

Film: 8.8 One of the best James Bond films in a very long time!

According to this online listing at Best Buy, a 007 boxed set is due for release next week containing Quantum of Solace, The Man with the Golden Gun and Licence to Kill.

As earlier reported on CBn, both both The Man with the Golden Gun and Licence to Kill weren’t due to hit the Blu-ray format until 12 May in the United States, but this Best Buy exclusive will allow fans to pick them up along with Daniel Craig’s latest Bond adventure almost two months in advance.

The film shifted Blu-ray and DVD 522,926 copies on its first day of release on Monday.

James Bond blockbuster Quantum Of Solace has become the UK's biggest home entertainment release of 2009.

The Official Charts Company has revealed the film shifted 522,926 Blu-ray and DVD copies on its first day of release on Monday.

The film, starring Daniel Craig, was also a box office phenomenon and had the biggest Friday opening of all time in the UK.

Twilight is currently the film to beat following a massively successful Saturday release, while the single-disc DVD and Blu-ray editions of Quantum occupy positions #2 and 3, respectively. The two-disc special edition DVD ranks just outside the top ten.

`Dr No` and `Quantum of Solace` twin-pack DVD coming in November

The oldest and newest James Bond movies will be bundled together in a DVD twin pack next month.

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and MGM will release the double-pack featuring Sean Connery's debut in "Dr No" (1962) and Daniel Craig's second outing as 007 in "Quantum of Solace" (2008).

Assumed to be a release of the Ultimate Edition of "Dr No" and Special Edition of "Quantum of Solace", the double dose of 007 will retail for $27.99 in the USA on 24th November 2009.
