Movie stars don't ordinarily have a lot of power in the conventional sense. They're very popular, make a lot of money and therefore enjoy all the 'big house, fast car' trappings of celebrity fame.
But it's the studios who can make or break them, and Hollywood is littered with the carcasses of those former film stars who made the crushing mistake of thinking that they held all the aces, and behaved accordingly.
But one thing's for sure. If you're the current James Bond, and generating big numbers at the box office, then you've got a whole Beretta cartridge full of temporary power. And that's the reason Daniel Craig is placed so high on this list.
Because he's the best 007 for years, and if he were to quit playing the role tomorrow then it could seriously dent the franchise. Cool, dangerous, hard and charismatic, Craig's Bond is a true hero for our times. He may not have the eyebrow-raising panache of a Roger Moore. But when it comes to the business of killing baddies, and exuding raw, exciting sex appeal, he's right up there with Sean Connery.
