Next Bond film to be based at Pinewood

PRAGUE -- James Bond will not be returning to the Czech Republic.

Citing the lack of financial incentives in the country, 007 production company Eon has informed Prague's Barrandov it will not use the studios for the next movie in the series, according to Barrandov head Vladimir Kuba.

London-based Eon confirmed Monday it is basing the Marc Forster-helmed pic, which starts shooting in December, at the U.K.'s Pinewood Studios but declined to comment on reasons or on what other locales may also be in the package.

However, Kuba was told that the lack of Czech incentives killed Barrandov's chances, he said.

But Daniel Craig was not so perfect on the set of his new movie The Golden Compass - just ask one unfortunate crew member.

News reaches us from the set of the fanstasy thriller that, during one of Craig's scenes, an accident left one poor crew member in hospital with a broken arm and collarbone.

Craig, who plays a character called Lord Asriel in the film - which also stars Nicole Kidman, Eva Green, John Hurt and Kevin Bacon - was running through a cobbled street in the pouring rain in Oxford when he veered toward a rickshaw that was carrying the cameraman.

The rickshaw swerved to avoid the actor and the crew member tumbled out and crashed to the ground. He was immediately rushed to hospital, where he was treated for a series of broken bones.

Before Bond, Craig Was Mr. Marmite James Bond Daniel Craig earned his acting union card by playing Mr. Marmite in a Reading, England supermarket - and he's still a big fan of the British yeast extract spread.

The actor reveals he used to wear a "Marmite jumper" and surprise shoppers with his over-the-top upbeat take on the tangy black paste at the beginning of his acting career.

He says, "I was Mr. Marmite - that's how I got my equity card... At the Reading Save-a-Centre."

Craig still spreads Marmite on his toast in the morning when he's at home in London - especially the new brand, which features Guinness.

He adds, "It wakes you up, like, 'Welcome to the day! I've just put axle grease in my mouth.".

Casino Royale and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest have joined the elite club of the 10 highest ever grossing films at the UK box office, according to new figures released by the UK Film Council.
Both films have broken the £50m barrier and are now in the company of Titanic, the Harry Potter films and The Full Monty as Britain's most popular movies.

The 39-year-old Casino Royale star has recorded radio slots for children's charity Barnardo's urging people not to give up on difficult youngsters.

The charity says fears about uncontrollable and "feral" children are exaggerated.

James Bond star Daniel Craig has been asked to join Hollywood's most exclusive club.

He was among 115 actors, filmmakers, studio executives and others invited into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the group that hands out the Oscars.

Others on the invitation list released by the academy Monday include Eddie Murphy, Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carell, Jennifer Hudson, Aaron Eckhart, Christopher Plummer, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Danny Huston.

The cover version of The Animals' 1964 hit House Of The Rising Sun features Hilbre School pupil Daniel, then aged 15, and classmates who had formed a band called Inner Voices in 1983.

They were about to enter a national competition run by the Trustees Savings Bank and the school agreed to let them go into a professional studio in Oxton to record their chosen song.

After starring in the most popular James Bond film of all time, "Casino Royale," blond British hunk Daniel Craig has his sights set on yet another cultural icon, this time American.

Since the news is appearing on this site, there can't be too many guesses to make. If you said Star Trek, give yourself a star!

"I would love a stint in the TV show or in a film," Craig recently told the World Entertainment News Network about Star Trek. "It's been a secret ambition of mine for years."

That could mean some interest in the upcoming proposed Star Trek XI movie from producer J.J. Abrams that reportedly will resurrect the characters of Kirk and Spock.

In a poll of hunks, he beat Bond actor Daniel Craig, No 2, and Kent-born Pirates of the Caribbean star Orlando Bloom, No 3.
