| Daniel Craig's stepbrother appointed to role with government opposition
James Bond actor Daniel Craig’s stepbrother has been given a major role by David Cameron devising policies aimed at ousting Labour from power.
Theology lecturer Phillip Blond’s celebrity link is revealed today as he defends the controversial views that have led some to call him the Conservative leader’s ‘Red Tory philosopher king’.
Revealing his forthright opinions in an interview with The Mail on Sunday, Mr Blond says:
* Slashing the power of the State and private monopolies is the only way to help the poor.
* Abortions should be banned except for rape victims, incest and teenage girls.
* Gay adoptions are not good for children.
His father, painter and art gallery owner Max, is married to Daniel Craig’s mother Olivia.
On paper, trendy philosopher Mr Blond and his action man actor relative Mr Craig could not be more unalike. However, long before they were linked by marriage – and aside from the uncanny closeness between Mr Blond’s real name and that of Mr Craig’s best-known screen persona – they lived almost parallel lives growing up in Liverpool in the Seventies.
Mr Blond was born on March 1, 1966, two years and a day before Mr Craig. Both failed their 11-plus and went to secondary modern schools. Both had artistic flair in their genes. Olivia loved the theatre and was the driving force in her son’s acting career. Mr Blond’s father Max was a respected artist.
Mr Craig’s parents split up when he was four; Mr Blond’s parents’ marriage ended when he was a teenager. His father married Mr Craig’s mother 15 years ago.
Mr Blond, 43, said yesterday: ‘I am a huge fan of Daniel. He is certainly the best Bond since Sean Connery. We have met a few times. He is a great bloke, younger than me and much more handsome.’
Mr Craig’s father Tim was a merchant seamen turned steel erector and pub landlord. His marriage to Olivia ended in 1972. Mr Blond’s mother Gabrielle now lives in Italy.
There the similarities end. Mr Blond studied at Peterhouse College, Cambridge, before becoming a theology lecturer at Cumbria University. At college, he was said to have described himself as a ‘Catholic socialist’ but he was wooed by Mr Cameron after expressing his admiration.
Mr Cameron was guest of honour in January when he launched a new think-tank, Progressive Conservatism.
Mr Blond yesterday defended his controversial views. He said: ‘Abortion is very problematic. It involves huge moral and social issues and yet it has become the norm. It is so extreme it should only be used in extreme cases. We should give support to women who have children and create a society where women do not feel the necessity to have an abortion.’
He also criticised gay adoption, adding: ‘From a personal perspective, I believe a child should have a mother and a father. What worries me about gay adoption is that children are being denied a loving relationship with a female and a male. It is difficult to see how gay adoption can provide that. I have gay friends who agree with me.’
And he explained why he supports Mr Cameron. He said: ‘I’m a little bit Red and a little bit Tory. That is the best way to help the poor.
‘Margaret Thatcher wanted to create proper Victorian values but she also created the “loadsamoney” generation that destroyed those values in working-class life.
‘Labour policies make individuals the slaves of the State. We have to liberate people and at the same time recreate the sense of community.’
Mr Blond has regular talks with Mr Cameron and his main policy adviser, Steve Hilton. He added: ‘I talk to David quite often, though he doesn’t always agree with me.
‘What I like about him is that he is very clever and open to new ideas – a great asset in a future leader. He is genuinely trying to rethink Conservatism.’

| Филип Блонд - сын отчима Дэниэла Крэйга Макса Блонда был назначен советником лидера партии Консерваторов Дэвида Кэмерона. Макс Блонд женился на матери Крэйга видимо давно после ее развода- здесь неясно.

| The name's Blond...step brother of Daniel Craig in Liverpool Mayor bid?
A leading Merseyside-born Tory is refusing rule out suggestions that he may enter the race to become Liverpool's first elected Mayor.
The jet-set lifestyle "Red Tory" Phillip Blond is akin to the flamboyant side of the fictional British spy his step-brother Daniel Craig portrays as James Bond.
But Wirral-educated Blond, 45, is director of think tank ResPublica, and has been rumoured as the Tory favourite to enter the contest to become Mayor of Liverpool.
He is a friend of Prime Minster David Cameron and is credited as one of the architects of the Big Society project that was controversially dropped by Liverpool City Council in 2010.
In 2009 Phillip Blond was a theology lecturer at St Martin's College at the University of Cumbria but he became the darling of David Cameron's "progressive conservatism".
He came to the fore as a "Red Tory" guru and thrilled Cameron and his supporters with his radical views about transforming public services for the future of British society.
On the back of a wave of publicity Blond established the "independent public policy think tank" ResPublica which became a source of embarrassment for its founder and the PM.
The company's name is Latin and loosely means 'public affair' and at the launch in November 2009 then Conservative leader Cameron was the guest of honour.
"Phillip Blond has been at the cutting edge of progressive thinking about public services and the future of our society," gushed Mr Cameron.
"ResPublica will now enable that thinking and the practical policy suggestions which flow from it to be carried forward.
"It is an exciting initiative which has arrived at a vital time."
But two years later Blond, who reportedly earns £60,000 a year plus high-end bonuses, blew £40,000 of his company's money.
Blond is the son of Liverpool-based artist Max Blond who is the second husband of Daniel's Craig's mother - Carol.
It is understood that Mr Blond is still considering his options over running for the Mayor's job in Liverpool which would be billed as a "fun" exercise for him.
Speculation suggested that he would use his Liverpool powerbase to mount a challenge to the other candidates to become Liverpool Mayor in the 3rd May poll.
But a spokesman for Mr Blond said: "If Phillip did run it would be a fun campaign but he has not said that he will be putting himself forward to be Mayor of Liverpool.
"He loves the city and is a great believer in elected mayors and maybe he will warm to the idea, but it is a rather late in the day now."
The Conservatives have revealed who their candidate for the top Liverpool civic dignitary will be.
An entrepreuner who has been called the "Cushion King of Liverpool" has officially been selected for the Liverpool Mayoral elections.
Tony Caldeira is the director of a global textiles company founded on a market stall but is now worth more than £20m and exports from China to New York.
A City of Liverpool Conservative spokesperson said: "We believe Tony has the leadership skills, business experience and political knowledge to lead, represent and improve our great city.
"He will become an outstanding Mayor for Liverpool if elected."
The announcement comes as top business leaders like Sir Richard Branson and Tesco boss Sir Terry Leahy address the Global Entrepreneurship Congress 2012 in Liverpool.
His campaign will be launched in the coming days under the name "Tony4Liverpool".

А он еще, поговаривают, на мера Ливерпуля собирается баллотироваться. Крутой братик. Внешне на Дэна совсем не похож... А Дэн довольно-таки на отца своего похож, так что закономерно. Блонд ведь этот брат по матери.

Это фото наверняка потрясут ваше воображение, но просим не путать 0 на них сводный брат Дэниэла Крэйга - модель Гарри Крэйг, альтернативная фетиш модель.
В то время как Дэниэл будет загребать 31 миллион фунтов за работу в следующих двух сериях Бондианы, Гарри, будучи без гроша в кармане, ударился в «альтернативные» фотосессии за 15 фунтов в час.
В его профайле на сайте моделей сказано, что он соглашается на съемки только в том случае, если его дорожные расходы будут оплачиваться , потому что Гарри утверждает: "Я не могу позволить себе ездить всюду."
Получивший частное образование Гарри появился в серии пикантных публикаций фетиш -фотографий, что никак не связано с его основной профессией модели.
Его тариф составляет 25 фунтов для съемок нагишом, и 30 фунтов для артистических и фетиш работ.
В другой серии фото Гарри позирует на кладбище с совами и женщинами в кожанках с шипами и противогазах, лицо Гарри было украшено пирсингом.
В семиминутном YouTube видео Гарри рассказывает о своей работе и хобби - коллекционировании противогазов, и признается , что его брат -актер находит это хобби странным.
Также Гарри в видео пьет из стакана Guinness и говорит: "Я похож на бродягу ... вам вероятно, и в голову не придет, что я модель. Я знаю людей из разных частей мира которые любят свою работу и это очень здорово.
Он приглашает поклонников войти в контакт, но добавляет: "Не просите показать мои противогазы, хотя ... Мои родители думают, что я урод, мой брат думает, что я извращенец, но я люблю их так сильно".
На своей странице модель говорит: "Я в основном специализируюсь в готическом, альтернативном и трешевом направлениях моды, но я с планирую расширить ,рамки и добавить фетиш и эротические работы в мое портфолио, а также ню и некоторые фантазийные вещи тоже."
"Когда я впервые начал делать подобные снимки, я и не думал, что зайду так далеко. Но это длится уже 2 года".
Его необычный вид может вызвать искры из глаз, но один фотограф, который снимал его, дает Гарри следующую характеристику: "Гарри регулярно ходил ко мне в студию в течение длительного времени. Я могу много хорошего сказать о нем. Прекрасная альтернативная модель с большим количеством полезного реквизита и очень преданный своему искусству ".
На своей страничке Facebook Гарри сказал, что он начал работать в баре на Честерском ипподроме, чтобы свести концы с концами.

| СМотрю я на энтого Гарри, ДК был гораздо симпотишнее в его возрасте. Гарри похож на мать. Видимо мать ДК тоже симпатичнее))
